So, you’ve taken the plunge and started your Invisalign journey in Blacktown—congrats! You’re officially on the path to a straighter smile without the metal brackets and wires. But now you might be wondering, ‘How do I eat tacos at the Blacktown Markets’, or ‘How do I talk during this work presentation without a lisp’? Here at Peak Dental Care, we’ve helped plenty of locals navigate life with Invisalign, and we have a few top tips to make your smile transformation smooth, fun and drama-free.

1. Take Your Trays Out Before You Eat

Invisalign aligners aren’t made for munching! Always remove them out before meals, even if it’s just a quick snack. Chewing while wearing clear aligners can damage your trays or warp their shape, ultimately slowing down your progress. We recommend keeping your Invisalign storage case with you at all times so you don’t end up wrapping your aligners in a napkin and accidentally tossing them out in the bin.

2. Sip Smart

Water is your bestie. Coffee, tea or anything colourful (like that cheeky bubble tea) sadly are not. If you’re not removing your aligners, stick to H2O to avoid staining your trays. Want that flat white from your favourite Blacktown café? No problem! Just take your aligners out, enjoy and give your teeth a quick rinse before popping them back in your mouth.

3. Speaking Gets Easier

You might notice a tiny lisp at first, especially if you're jumping on Zoom calls or giving a speech at school or work. But don’t worry because it’s short-lived! Practise reading aloud or chatting with friends. Your mouth will adjust faster than you think.

4. Smile Big and Often

Your aligners are practically invisible, so go ahead and smile in those photos at Featherdale Sydney Wildlife Park or brunch with mates. You’re investing in your smile, and it shows!
